I won’t bore you with the technical details but the long and short of it is that this past week both Patreon and my theme developer updated their plugins with Patreon’s apparently having some major security updates and changes to their connection system.
I’m still not entirely certain at this point what has happened, but it seems like something in that mix has caused some members to have glitches with their connection not letting them see anything here on the site.
I’m still working on my end to trace any possible issues but I’ve also heard back from Patreon support.
Since the member is still appearing as active in your Relationship Manager, their membership itself appears to still be recognized on your creator account. When this happens, the most common causes are:
- The member may accidentally be logged into a different Patreon account than the one tied to their membership
- There may be an account-level issue affecting their access permissions or Patreon login session
- The plugin refresh may have disrupted the authorization connection between Patreon and your WordPress site for that specific user
Because we’ll need to review account-specific details that we can only discuss directly with the member, the best next step is for the member to contact Patreon Support themselves. That allows us to securely review their account, verify the membership connection, and troubleshoot access issues directly on our end.
Feel free to direct members to our Help Center to send us a note. At the bottom of every article, they’ll find a section labeled “Still need help?”, with a button labeled “Submit a request.” Clicking this button will allow them to connect directly with our Support team. We’re happy to work with them to figure it out!
So, for now, I’d suggest anyone having issues to reach out and have Patreon check into your setup so we can at least eliminate that as a possibility.
I’ll update this post as I discover more.
