For the last few years, we have been publishing the original Deadlys series as a set of monthly floppy comics. This was done to allow fans to pick up specific chunks of the archives that they may have wanted without necessarily investing in the larger collections.
Over the course of this year, we have been struggling to publish each issue in a timely manner. Not because we haven’t kept up with our end, but because our distributor seems to have some strange issue with posting titles in a reasonable time frame. Quite frankly, it has been frustrating beyond belief and just unacceptable from my point of view. I take pride in what I offer fans and that includes my commitments to try and deliver content in as timely a manner as possible. I may not always succeed, but I make every effort to try and be as transparent as possible about what is happening behind the scenes.
So the original run was planned for about 30-32 issues which I believe would’ve taken us into late next year. However, I have now decided to end the print series and will simply stick to offering the complete collection as we have before.
My frustrations in no way change my opinions on the quality of books they produce. I still think their product is great and will continue to offer it to anyone as long as I feel it meets the standards of quality you deserve. To date, I have not experienced any issues with printing and shipping.
This is a final call for anyone who’s been sitting on the fence about grabbing any issue(s).
GRAB THEM NOW.
I plan on pulling the entire collection sometime in January and once they’re gone, that’s it. If there is demand for smaller volume collections I may look at breaking the big collection down into several books but, for the foreseeable future I only plan on offer the original series as a complete volume.
This does not impact the online archive of strips. They’ll stay right where they are for anyone to read when they want.
I’ll keep you updated as things progress. Thanks for reading.
